After a first attempt with the ladybug (your correction made me smile because, in retrospect, if you remove the spots, mine clearly looks like an aphid đ), I tried to apply your analysis and decomposition method to a kind of beetle. The next step is the car, which might get a little more complicated. In any case, itâs good teaching, with clear and simple explanations (so far) that make me want to continue with your course.
Well, itâs safe to say that it will be difficult to mistake your beetle for anything else, with or without spots! đ
Donât worry too much about the proportions and other small details at first. Of course, these are very important points! But whatâs even more important when starting out is the ability to study, understand, and represent a subject in a simple and effective way.
Youâre doing well, so đ
Keep it up!
The car is a bit more challenging, in the sense that itâs all about small proportions and details... But the key to the exercise lies in the fact that the principle remains the same đ
Thank you very much for your compliments. Iâm glad youâre enjoying the course. đ
Thank you for these very interesting lessons, which really challenge your intelligence! Itâs great, it gives me hope that Iâll be able to draw correctly one day.
After watching the three corrections, I redid the exercise with a grand piano (to change things up, it motivates me more), but I see that I have trouble imagining objects in a perspective that I canât see. In fact, I can more or less copy⊠but visualizing the object from another angle seems difficult. For example, the grand piano with the âlidâ open⊠What would it look like from an aerial view đ? Will it come with practice?
Thank you for your feedback,
Iâm continuing with the second lesson, which Iâm watching right away! Thanks again for your teaching style and the clarity of your explanations!
Yes, donât worry if you feel like youâre struggling right now. If youâve never done this type of exercise before, it can be very daunting. Most importantly, donât panic! Itâs not intuitive or innate; itâs a skill that develops over time.
If you feel like youâre really struggling, then feel free to check out the other lessons: the course covers other concepts that might be able to help you a bit. And thereâs no rush; you can come back here later to try this exercise again!
You know, I had to organize the lessons in this course, and I chose the order that seemed most logical to me. But weâre all different, and we all learn at different paces. So donât feel pressured; enjoy the process, and move on to the next lesson if you feel like this one isnât the right fit for you right now!
Good evening. Here is the first draft of the ladybug drawing, done without looking at the reference. I will look at the reference and then I will start over.
Good evening, after completing the ladybug exercise, I browsed through the comments and noticed that most people had drawn the spots on the ladybugâs shell, and I was wondering if that was important?
Here is my work; I didnât bother drawing the spots.
Thank you very much for the training!
Itâs not necessarily essential to do it, even though itâs an exercise in itself, since it follows the same principle as the rest: representing shapes from multiple viewpoints. đ
Itâs even worse. Hereâs my drawing board. Iâm not very good at drawing all the angles. Do you think you can tell what it is? Iâd love to be able to draw like you, but Iâm not very good at it. Iâm going to try to do better with the car.
I admit Iâm a bit lazy when it comes to detailsâŠ
But maybe itâs because the model isnât inspiring me⊠? đ
I think I understand the idea. It reminds me of technical drawing. Itâs a bit like a blueprint of the objectâŠ

Best of luck!

And regarding the second request, as explained in another post, it will come with practice. Keep drawing! :-)
