I chose a photograph of the dancer Alvin Ailey as a model for this exercise. The result seems coherent, although it could be improved. I think the head is slightly too small.

Wow! We can definitely say that you challenged yourself with this exercise! The result is really good, especially considering that the pose wasnât easy. You did a great job of capturing the dynamism, and the anatomy is quite accurate overall. You should be proud of yourself!! đ The head is indeed a bit too small, and the volume of the legs is also a little too thin, which tends to give the impression that he has very long legs, even though you perfectly managed to convey the correct length. His two arms also seem a little larger and more voluminous. :)
Hello Glokta, good job on this drawing! Try to operate starting from a skeleton or a mannequin as a base before placing the different layers of muscle in order to represent their volumes. If you have doubts about the investments of the muscles takes the time to observe anatomical illustrations which represent the different muscles, this can help you for the areas where they appear in a more subtle way. :)
Hi Guiguitonic, don't worry, your work is rather clean I think! For the resemblance of the said person, sorry I do not see who it is ... đ Suddenly, I hope that my correction is not going to distort the desired resemblance! Overall, your character is well constructed, with some light concerns of the nearest proportion. (like the length of the legs, the size of the hands, etc ...). I think you can accentuate the musculature a little more, the arms seem too fine. The part of the abs looks good, but is too small. Also be careful not to do too much "on" to draw the abs, it gives an unrealistic rendering (but in the case of a very muscular character).Â
It's really good! Â In terms of inking I have nothing to say it's great! Regarding the anatomy in itself you got out of it, the only thing that seems to me a little bizarre is the size of the head, I find it a little too large compared to the rest of the corp, it gives it a proportion of 1/5 which seems really strange, ditto at the level of its neck which suddenly is very disproportionate, especially in comparison with its shoulders. Apart from that indeed the hands and the right foot would be reworked but they remain is really good, well done !! đ
So as I did not have the reference maybe my correction will not be faithful to reality. Overall your pose is really good, we understand the movement directly. Your line may be a little rigid, especially on a pose that seems relaxed like that, but it's a detail. The two main points which in my opinion should be corrected are the chest it seems strange to this view of 3/4 back that we do not see a little bit the shape of the breast, after if very small breasts it is completely possible (to see according to your reference) and the leg of the bottom, it also seems a little too short. Overall you did not choose the simplest pose and you got out of it rather well so you can be proud of yourself !! đ
Hello Adele07, this is good work, but you will find it easier to understand and position the muscles if you take into account the lines of action of the subject. Here, the character really conveys a sense of movement, with his arm in the air and the curvature of the torso and pelvis. You can draw a line to identify these curves of movement; this will help you to accurately reproduce the position, its dynamics, and how the muscles will stretch or contract. Pay attention to your perspective; in your drawing, we get the impression of a low-angle shot. Otherwise, itâs good work! :)
Great, youâve chosen an interesting model. Hereâs a corrected version where I want you to pay attention to the size relationships. If you look closely, youâll see that youâve generally maintained the proportions of a correct body. However, there are a few small details that you overlooked. I see that your character is thin, so his neck and shoulders are too large for his body, as is the musculature of his arms. In short, the human body is one of the most challenging subjects to draw, but itâs also one of the most rewarding. So, I encourage you to do a lot of studies, and youâll see how that helps you continue to improve.
Hello/Good evening CHANG, this is really good! The muscles are well detailed, and the rendering of the shadows is great! However, be sure to properly construct your characters before moving on to the details of the muscles, even if you are working from a reference. You need to prepare your models well to properly understand the proportions and volumes as a whole! Otherwise, itâs good work! đ

Bonjour,

Hello, here is my work. Sorry for the lack of cleanliness and the non -resemblance of my interpretation of this person.
I will have liked to know if the skeleton and the emptying of muscles, are consistent
Bonjour voici mon travail .

I pushed this work for a little while but in the end I took a lot of fun. Fortunately it was not an exercise on the faces;-)

Hi Eric!
Salut Eric !
TrĂšs bien ! Tu as choisi un modĂšle intĂ©ressant.
Cependant, tu as manqué quelques petits détails.
