Ah! My wish has come true; I can see your inked characters :D
So, I'm sending you back to my message on the other course with the little trick for the hatching.
I really like the inking of the faces; it looks great. However, I think we haven't quite nailed the hair. On the blonde, the strands are too regular everywhere, and it looks a bit rough compared to the face, which is treated with a certain finesse. Also, I notice that you're adding some shadows to the skin, but none to the hair. It could be light and focused on certain areas in particular (like towards the nape of the neck, for example).
The same goes for the brunette. Also, don't necessarily try to do the hair shading in the direction of the strands; you can try keeping your hatching in the same direction as the hatching on the body.
Similarly, the clothes are still done very quickly, especially for the blonde. The hatching doesn't go all the way to the collar of the shirt; is there a specific reason for that?
So, for the faces, we're good âïž
For the rest, you'll need to practice a little more ^^
It looks like youâve opted for the same line thickness throughout ^^
Itâs cool and clean, a bit shaky in places. You can also tell that youâre not quite letting yourself go (in terms of the hair, you can tell you wanted to apply yourself well), so the lines are regular and perhaps a bit too strong. Donât hesitate to make lines that âdisappear,â that really thin out with the hair. But itâs not bad. With a little practice, it will be really cool :3
First, I used the same line thickness for everything, and then I tried to thicken the outer lines and emphasize the overlaps, with varying degrees of success.
If you add the tremors and a few mistakes, thatâs what you get.
What advice could you give me to improve all of this?
Yes, you have many different ways to ink (feel free to look at the manga you have at home to test different rendering techniques, by the way ^^). The places where you thicken your lines can depend on various factors, but once youâve chosen the âparameterâ that will determine whether a line is thick or not, you should stick to it for the entire drawing.
For example, you can only ink the lines on the âundersideâ of the character (under the jaw, under the sweater, under the arms, forearms, hands, etc.). You can choose to only thicken the areas that will create shadows (under the jaw, base of the fingers, armpits, inside the ear, some strands of hair, etc.), you can choose to thicken according to the planes (whatâs in front is thicker than whatâs behind, so the left forearm, the right hand, the strand of hair, etc.). And there are many other ways to ink, by thickening the silhouettes and keeping the rest thinner, etc.
Keep testing and experimenting to find what you like ^^
Letâs say the purpose of inking is to follow the pencil sketch underneath, because normally your pencil sketch is your âperfectâ drawing, and youâre simply cleaning it up.
If you donât follow what youâve done underneath, it becomes problematic. Donât hesitate to practice; it takes some time before you feel comfortable and can create nice lines. Take your time, donât try to go too fast, and carefully follow your drawing underneath. Youâll probably end up changing some things unintentionally (like with the hair), because youâve started with a slightly different curve that shifts the strand a bit, etc. But overall, the goal is to follow the basic sketch well.
But itâs not so bad; remember to close your lines properly too (especially in key areas like the head â I see some gaps in its skull).
And for the hatching, make sure the lines are parallel so that it emphasizes your drawing without overpowering it.
I think it needs some more work, but itâs already very clean for a first attempt.
You used a consistent line weight for the inking (no thick or thin lines, like in Naruto), which works well. We can tell that youâre not quite mastering the tool yet; there are some discontinuous lines (for example, the right forearm at the edge of the sleeve has a slight misalignment). Itâs a little shaky, and some lines extend too far (like the skirt) or not far enough (at the hair/shoulder). However, you placed the hatching quite well, and the overall result is nice :D
Donât hesitate to practice on your drawings or with the other drawings from the course to gradually improve and get used to the tool (it takes time, and thatâs normal ^^).
Hello! I wanted to know the approximate price of a pen with a few different nibs (I don't know if that's what they're called, but anyway...) and the price of a small pot of ink, like the one used in the lesson?
It depends on where you buy it and what brand, but for the nib I use (sold as part of a set of three nibs) and a bottle of ink, you can find everything for around âŹ25.
The nib holder set with its nibs costs less than âŹ15, and the bottle of ink depends on the ink you choose, but itâs the same â you can find them for between âŹ10 and âŹ15. :)
You can tell youâre not quite comfortable yet; I see some inconsistencies in certain areas. I see that youâve thickened the bottom part of the sweater, but in general, if you choose to thicken certain lines, itâs best to follow a consistent logic throughout the entire drawing. For example, you said you thickened the lines on the top, but you didnât do it everywhere (like the hair). For the flat areas, itâs the same; they all need to follow a consistent logic. Some can define a shade (like the headband in her hair). Others, which symbolize the shading, must all follow the same logic (the shadows are projected by a single light source, so they are logically all oriented in the same way and can be found throughout the character). For example, you placed shadows on the back parts of the hair strands, but not everywhere. We can interpret it as a shadow on the underside of the strands, but in that case, the shadow on the strand at the top left is wrong, and youâre missing some shadows in other places as well ^^
But for a first attempt, itâs not bad; keep practicing :D

As promised, hereâs my drawing. Not very good, is it? ;-;
I tend not to follow the outlines very closely.
Thatâs all, have a good evening :)
Comme prévu, voici mon exo. Pas terrible, hein ? ;-;

Iâve passed on your issue regarding the video; the team is working on it.
Regarding the fact that the image is barely visible, thatâs strange. Was the file you downloaded visible on your computer when you opened it and almost invisible when printed? Or was it already invisible on your screen even before you printed it?
If it was already invisible on your screen, thatâs not normal.
If it was clearly visible, then itâs probably an issue with your printer.
This is the first time someone has had an issue with the file, so Iâm leaning towards the second option, but Iâll let you verify it yourself and let me know.
