Concerning the backgrounds, I recommend using very soft tones, since it is a background element; once your portrait is finished, you will be able to evaluate whether you need to increase the saturation or not. As for working in wet, it all comes down to wetting the brush well and practicing.

Concernant les arrière-plans, je te recommande d'utiliser des tons très doux, puisqu'il s'agit d'un élément de second plan ; une fois ton portrait terminé, tu pourras évaluer s'il faut augmenter la saturation ou non. Quant au travail sur l'humide, tout se résume à bien mouiller le pinceau et à pratiquer.

I haven't been able to paint at the same speed as you. I finally let go of the tutorial and worked at my own pace.
I have a lot of trouble with fades. Working wet or dry, it's not clear to me.

Je n'ai pas réussi à peindre à la même vitesse que toi. J'ai finalement lâché le tuto et travaillé à mon rythme.
J'ai beaucoup de mal avec les fondus. Travail sur mouillé ou sec, ce n'est pas clair pour moi.
