Good luck! It's not always easy, but don't put too much pressure on yourself. Do your best, always think about what you're drawing, and don't be afraid to make mistakesâit's completely normal and even helps you learn from them so you don't repeat them later.
Don't worry, take your time. Characters are a very complicated thing, you're not the only one struggling :) Work at your own pace, as long as you're having fun and understanding things, that's what matters đ
To answer your first question; there are some disproportions in your character.
We consider that the outstretched hand = size of the face, here the hands are too small. The legs are a bit too long and the arms too short, (the tip of the fingers of an outstretched hand should reach between about 1/3 and half of the thigh.
To answer your second question, it depends. If you take a head ratio of 10, and you want to make a very tall being (like the aliens in Avatar, let's say), you will find similar proportions. They will have their hands reaching between 1/3 and half the thigh, the elbows at the level of the navel, the pelvis about halfway up the body, etc., to have something proportionate. But you might also want to create a disproportionate character (like Disney princesses, chibis in manga, or create generally disproportionate creatures), but to be able to disproportion coherently, without it appearing to be drawing errors, you first need to be comfortable with the classic body proportions, understand them, and know what to play with so that the whole thing works.
If we take the case of the Disney princesses, the proportions of their bodies are consistent with a canon, but their heads are bigger, and thus the proportion of their eyes among other things. But the size of their heads is also used as a reference for their bodies, just not with the same number (they have about a 6 head ratio, rather than 7/8). Similarly, if you take the example of Hulk, for instance, he has a very small head, he is rather tall, but the proportions of his body are consistent in height, but very exaggerated in width.
In summary, try to maintain consistency and logic for it to work. Some elements will follow the canon, others will deviate from it ^^
I found it quite practical to use the head and a few other body parts to ensure the human being is proportionate. It's a matter of precision: a few millimeters can quickly change the character's appearance a lot.
Hello, I took the risk of going without a net, without documentation, to see what it would be like from memory, since I am used to drawing what I see and I want to change.
Well, you're doing very well without a safety net, Solfala :D
Don't be afraid to use references for certain things despite everything (I'm thinking of the gentlemen's pectorals, for example), to understand how they work, where they attach, how they deform with movements, all that stuff. You tend to make big feet and big hands (open hand = length of the face), you could also slightly widen the gentleman's shoulders and reduce the lady's a little bit. Otherwise, I approve, it works well ^^
Hello everyone, sorry for my absence but I've been very busy and haven't had time to draw properly. I really like your courses, they are very interesting and informative. I get back to it from time to time and I will send you my progress if I have any.

And it's even worse for faces. The slightest micro shift can completely change the face :)
In the meantime, your exercise is good ^^

It works very well :D However, be careful, you tend to slightly cram all your characters (they are shorter / less tall than the models you show me).
Ăa marche trĂšs bien :D Tu feras attention par contre, tu as tendance Ă lĂ©gĂšrement tasser tous tes personnages (ils sont moins longs / hauts que les modĂšles que tu me montres).

You even started playing with the proportions / disproportions! Some attempts are more successful than others but it's very nice, keep going ^^
