Hey Greg,
After a first attempt with the ladybug (your correction made me smile because, in hindsight, if you remove the spots, mine clearly looks like an aphid đ), I tried to apply your method of analysis and decomposition to a sort of beetle. Next step, the car, it might get a bit complicated. In any case, good teaching, clear and simple explanations (for now) that make me want to continue your training.
Ah, well it's certain that we'll have trouble confusing your beetle with anything else, with or without spots! đ
Don't worry too much about the proportions and other small details initially. Of course, these are very important points! But what is even more important at the start is the ability to study, understand, and represent a subject in a simple and effective way.
You are doing well, so đ
Keep it up!
The car is a bit trickier, in that it's all about small proportions and details... But the key to the exercise lies in the fact that the principle remains the same đ
Thank you very much for your compliments. Glad you like the training. đ
Thank you for these very interesting lessons, which really make one think! It's great, it gives me hope that I'll be able to draw properly one day.
After watching the 3 corrections, I went back to the exercise with a grand piano (for a change, it motivates me more), but I see that I have trouble imagining objects in a perspective that I don't see. In fact, I can more or less copy... but visualizing the object from a different angle seems difficult. For example, the grand piano with the "lid" open... What would it look like from a bird's-eye view đ ? Will it get easier with time?
Thanks for your feedback,
I'm continuing with the second course that I'm watching right away! Thanks again for your teaching methods and the clarity of your explanations!
Yes, donât worry if it feels like youâre struggling at the moment. If youâve never done this type of exercise before, it can be very intimidating. Above all, donât panic! Itâs anything but intuitive, or innate. Itâs a skill that develops.
If you feel like youâre really struggling, then indeed look at the other lessons: we cover other concepts in the training that will undoubtedly be able to help you a bit. And no rush, you can always come back here later to tackle this exercise another time!
You know, I had to put the lessons of this training in some order, and I chose what seemed most logical to me. But weâre all different, and we all have our own pace. So no pressure, enjoy yourself, and move on to the next part if you feel like now is not the right time for this one!
Good evening, Here is the first work on the ladybug without having looked at the corrections. I will look at the corrections and then I will start again.
Good evening, after completing the exercise on the ladybug, I strolled through the comments and noticed that most people had drawn the spots on the ladybug's shell, and I was wondering if that was important?
Here is my work; I didn't bother to draw these spots.
Thank you very much for your training!
Not necessarily obligatory to do it even if it is an exercise in itself since it is the same principle as the rest: representing shapes from several viewpoints. đ
It's even worse, here is my drawing board. I am not good at making all the angles. Do you think I understand anyway? I would really like to do like you, but Iâm not doing very well. I will try to do better with the car.
I admit to being lazy about the details, ...
But, maybe it's because the model doesn't inspire me ... ? đ
I think I understand the idea. It reminds me of technical drawing. Kind of like a blueprint of the object, ...

And for the second request, as explained in another post, it will come with practice. Keep drawing :-)
