So basically, youâve drawn an object as seen from above with a horizon line that is graphically positioned below it. As a result, the vanishing points arenât going to the right place at all. Hence this strange result, which is impossible to observe in reality! Welcome to the world of drawing⊠:-p
If youâre having trouble with this, just remember that this type of viewing angle is similar to the one you might have in your exercise 2-1, but⊠by turning the paper upside down ;-)

I understand why you say you struggled with it. You didnât make things easy for yourself!
First, regarding your second post: be careful with inverted perspectives. In your overhead view, for example, the lines at the bottom of your object seem to be converging downwards. However, itâs the lines at the top that should be converging towards each other, meeting at a vanishing point located on the horizon line. Thatâs what inverted perspective is đ
Another point, for your first post: very few people make the heights âdescend.â Thereâs nothing wrong with it, though. Your exercise is correct!
For the second part, however... an inclined plane! And a skewed one, to top it all off. What courage!
The structure and volume look good overall. (Just so you know, if you had wanted to do things scientifically for your inclined plane, you would have had to create a third vanishing point, located directly below the one on the right. In its current state, the lines of your inclined plane are parallel to each other, and it works very well: it was just a little detail đ)
However, you created a perspective that is... not inverted this time, but rather impossible!
You connected a point in the foreground to a vertical line located further back in the depth...

This course was fascinating! Thank you :) For a single vanishing point, I understood it right away. However, with two or three vanishing points, I struggle!
I have difficulty knowing which vanishing point to direct my lines towards. Even if I follow your explanation and start with a rectangle that I then âcutâ through, I canât even redraw the rectangle in perspective anymore. I feel lost. I know when Iâm making a mistake, but I canât seem to correct it. Help!!!
Youâre trying to draw an impossible perspective!
I think youâre confusing yourself! Start with something simpler if youâre having trouble. You begin with a rectangle that you cut out, but then you get lost in the middle of it. You do something strange at some point, and after that, itâs impossible to get back on track.
The only valid method in these circumstances is to proceed step by step, without rushing, to pinpoint the part thatâs causing the problem. đ
So, first of all, project the rectangle in perspective onto the ground. Then, before drawing the vertical lines upwards, continue the drawing in perspective. You will only create elevations once that is done correctly.
Iâm telling you this specifically because in your work, the error comes from the fact that you rushed, and you mixed up the lines.
So, take a deep breath, and do the following exercise:
First, draw shape 1 in perspective (without height!), then transform it into shape 2, then into shape 3... đ

Here is my version of the exercises. It was great to do them. At first, you think it will be complicated, but once you get started, it flows easily (although with a few erasures, of course ^^).
I redid exercise 2-2 after seeing how you divided the shapes. That made things much easier, thank you!

Alors voilà mon problÚme, j'ai essayé de faire l'exercice 2 et comment dire ... je ne sais pas trop.
Bref pour l'exo 2-1 la ligne d'horizon est au-dessus, pour le 2-2 elle est en dessous, sa serait cool de savoir ce qui va et ce qui ne va pas.

pour l'exercice 2-2, ta ligne d'horizon n'est pas en dessous, puisque je vois la face supĂ©rieure de l'objet. Donc en gros, tu as dessinĂ© un objet vu de dessus avec une ligne d'horizon situĂ©e graphiquement sous lui. ConsĂ©quence : les fuyante ne vont pas du tout au bon endroit. D'oĂč ce rĂ©sultat bizarre, impossible Ă observer dans la rĂ©alitĂ© ! Bienvenue dans le monde du dessin... :-p

Itâs very interesting, but it was a bit of a slog (if there had been an emoji with a bead of sweat, I probably would have used it).

Je comprends pourquoi tu dis en avoir bavé. Tu ne t'es pas simplifié la vie !
PremiĂšrement, avec ton deuxiĂšme post : attention aux perspectives inversĂ©es. Sur ta vue du dessus, par exemple, les lignes du bas de ton objet semblent se rapprocher vers le bas. Alors que ce sont les lignes du haut qui devraient se rapprocher les unes des autres, pour rejoindre un point de fuite situĂ© sur la ligne d'horizon. C'est ça, la perspective inversĂ©e đ
Autre point, pour le premier post : rares sont les personnes Ă faire "descendre" les hauteurs. Rien de faut, ceci dit. Ton exercice est correct !
Pour la deuxiÚme partie, cela dit... Un plan incliné ! Et biscornu, avec tout ça. Quel courage !
La structure et le volume rendent bien, dans l'ensemble. (Saches que si tu avais voulu faire les choses scientifiquement pour ton plan inclinĂ©, il t'aurait fallu crĂ©er un troisiĂšme point de fuite, situĂ© Ă l'aplomb de celui de droite. LĂ , en l'Ă©tat, les droites de ton plan inclinĂ© sont parallĂšles entre elles et cela fonctionne trĂšs bien : c'Ă©tait juste pour la petite histoire đ )
En revanche, tu as créé une perspective... Non pas inversée, cette fois, mais bien impossible !
Tu as relié un point du premier plan à une droite verticale se trouvant plus loin dans la profondeur...

Ce cours était passionnant.... !!!! merci :) , autant pour un seul point de fuite , j'ai compris de suite , ...... avec 2 ou 3 points de fuites , j'ai du mal !!
J'ai difficile de savoir vers quel point de fuite diriger mes lignes .... mĂȘme si je reprends comme tu l'as expliquĂ© un rectangle dans lequel on "recoupe" par la suite, je n'arrive mĂȘme plus a redessiner le rectangle en perspective....je me sens perdue .... je sais qd je fais l'erreur mais ne parviens pas Ă la corriger .....Helpppp !!!

Je crois que tu t'embrouilles toute seule ! Commence avec des choses plus simples si tu as du mal. Tu débutes avec un rectangle que tu découpes, mais que tu te perds en plein milieu. Tu dois faire un truc étrange à un moment donné, et aprÚs ça, plus moyen de revenir sur les bons rails.
La seule mĂ©thode valable, dans ces circonstances, c'est d'y aller Ă©tape par Ă©tape, sans se prĂ©cipiter, pour mettre le doigt sur la partie qui pose problĂšme. đ
Donc avant toute chose, reporte le rectangle en perspective sur le sol. Puis, avant de faire monter les droites verticales, poursuis le dessin en perspective. Tu ne créeras des élévations qu'une fois que ce sera bon.
Je te dis ça précisément parce que sur ton travail, l'erreur vient du fait que tu es allée trop vite en besogne, et tu as mélangé des traits.
Donc on respire un grand coup, et fais l'exo suivant :
Dessine d'abord en perspective (sans hauteur !) la forme 1, puis transforme la en 2, puis en 3... đ

En fait , en vue frontale , ça va, ...c'est dÚs qu'il faut faire bouger l'objet afin de le voir d'un autre angle que cela coince ....
Je pense que je fais partir une droite vers un mauvais point de fuite lorsqu'il y en a deux, .... mais qd ? .... lol bonne question !! J'ai pourtant regardĂ© le cours plusieurs fois ! ...... je ne dĂ©sespĂšre pas, ....j'y retourne !! Je te montrerai ....si j'y arrive đđđđ

Voici ma version des exercices. C'Ă©tait super Ă faire, autant au dĂ©but on se dit que ça va ĂȘtre compliquĂ©, autant une fois qu'on s'applique, ça avance tout seul (au prix de quelques coups de gomme bien entendu ^^).
J'ai refait l'exercice 2-2 aprÚs avoir vu ta maniÚre de découper les formes. Ca a grandement facilité la chose, merci!
