Here is my drawing, finally take 1... and action! đ
Okay, I had a lot of trouble because I didnât quite understand the center of the drawing, but after a while, I was quite happy with what I did. However, I should have gone into more detail (the trick...) and focused more on the basic shapes of each element. In my profile view, the bottom part is missing, which is the support I have in all the other views (I added it after uploading the photos đ).
Itâs not an easy subject, and you handled it well.
I donât have much to say; the elements are in the right places, and your views are consistent with each other.
I do get the impression that there are some slight variations in proportion, particularly in the ratio of the housing size to the length and thickness of the lens, but nothing too significant.
Thanks, HadH, at least I didnât waste hours struggling for nothing đ. Indeed, depending on the perspectives, I had a different appreciation of the object, and as a result, I sometimes shortened the casing or lengthened the lens because I was a bit more focused on the other elements around it or wanted to refine the arrangement (I had a lot of trouble with whatâs between the screen and the microphone; I didnât really understand the structure of the object in that area).
Iâll try to pay more attention to the proportions in my next illustrations đ.
Itâs better than before! The volumes are much more consistent, and the overall design works better. The only small comment I would make is that in your volume view, it looks like your camera body extends a little too far in depth, almost as if it were lying on its side. Itâs a block, and the face where the lens is fitted is smaller than the two faces on the sides, which are longer. And in your drawing, it looks like itâs the other way around.
Other than that, itâs all good, and your other views work well!
This is really good!
Here are a few comments:
- You made the microphone very thin (but at least itâs consistent with your designs :D)
- Overall, all the details are a bit small (eyepiece, handle, screen)
- In your 3D views, the lens seems to be getting longer.
Nevertheless, good job :) Excellent understanding of volumes.
Hello Eldra!
I understand perfectly. Regarding the perspective view, pay attention to the cylinder; the rounded part isnât properly attached to the front of the camera body. Iâll send you a tutorial on cylinders. From the front, it looks good, but the camera body shouldnât extend so far to the sides. A top view and a side view, and perhaps another perspective view, would be good additions.
Overall, itâs good work for this camera :) I just noticed a few minor issues. For the perspective view, itâs good, but the lens cylinder doesnât seem to be properly anchored to the face of the camera itâs resting on; it seems a bit too high. The end of the lens also seems a little thin. Otherwise, itâs good :) For the 2D views, everything is fine, but be careful with the top view; the handle should be in the middle of the body, not on the side. I approve of the rest!
Very good work :) Everything is well done :) The only view that actually has flaws is the rear perspective view. The handle is tilted too much to the side, and the end of the lens is too. You need to pay attention to the parallel lines. Based on the directions of the lines facing each other on the body, you could have used the same directions for the elements to correct. Iâm going to add some colors to show you which lines to use as a reference, and Iâll also annotate the area where you seem to be having trouble ;)
It seems that drawing parallel lines is a problem for me.
Do you have any exercises that I can use to practice drawing them correctly?
Thank you again for your extremely helpful feedback.
Have a great day.
Youâre welcome! My advice for drawing parallel lines would be to use a ruler. Place it on the first line already present, and gently move the ruler to where you want to draw the next parallel line, making sure not to change the angle of the ruler. You can also practice drawing parallel lines freehand, paying attention not to change the angle as you go. Improvement will come with practice.
If the issue is identifying the parallel lines in the model so that you donât forget them when drawing, you can mark the parallel lines that run in the same direction with different colors on a quick sketch or over the model before starting the final drawing. I hope my advice is helpful :)

Thatâs great!
Just one thing: in your 3D view, the lens seems a bit too long! But everything else looks good đ
C'est trĂšs bien !
Juste, sur ta vue en volume l'objectif me paraĂźt bien long !

I understand everything, well done! The only detail I notice is that in the perspective drawing, the body is a bit too short.
